The Dioptra puts light where stands cannot stand: counterweights calibrated and labelled, reach and load tables printed on the arm, and safeties included because overhead is a promise, not a hope.
Overhead systems are engineered like the ceilings they hang from: rails rated with margin, carriages that glide under load, pantographs balanced so one hand moves what one hand should. Mounting must be to load-bearing structure by a qualified contractor — keep the installer's documentation, because studio insurance reads paperwork, not brochures.

Care
Sand stays in sandbags: brush leg joints after beach and site work. Do not exceed stamped loads, ever, even briefly. Have rail systems inspected yearly by a qualified rigger.
